Did you know that there is more to Apple Cider Vinegar than it being a dressing on your salad? This versatile kitchen condiment can offer you a variety of other uses, apart from it being already a delightful addition to your platter-full of veggies. This tried-and-tested-but-seldom-credited ingredient is a wonderful, affordable and very effective supplement to your beauty skin care regimen.

Diluted in the right amount, Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) can do wonders for you to have better and more beautiful skin. ACV acts as a stimulant that helps moisturize the face. It is capable of cleansing the skin and can help your skin revert back to its natural acidity by controlling the skin’s pH levels.

Below are a few tried and tested beauty secrets. Why, secret, you may ask? Well… who would really want to publicly announce that they use vinegar on their skin? It may sound weird and silly, but the experts know it works. So head on over to your kitchen, pick up that bottle of Apple Cider Vinegar, and let’s begin the journey to a healthier and more beautiful-looking skin.

How to use ACV as Astringents, Cleansers and Toners: Mix a part of Apple Cider Vinegar and a part of cool water together. Dab the mixture on your skin with a cotton ball, carefully avoiding the eyes. Leave skin to air dry. Doing this will help lock-in the moisture to your skin and will give you a soft and supple skin.

Acne Treatment: Mix 1 part of water and 1 part ACV in a container. Apply the mixture to your face using your hands. If you want, you can also apply it with a cotton ball soaked in a solution of water and ACV mixture. Avoid putting the solution on the eyes as you allow the solution to sit for about 30 seconds to a minute before rinsing. Apply the solution 2-3 times a day. If the mixture stings or if redness or inflammation occurs, lessen your usage from 2-3 times a day to 1-2 times daily.

Aftershave: Men can use ACV as an aftershave by splashing a little amount on their face after shaving to keep their skin soft. Don’t worry about the smell as this will dissipate after a few minutes.

Balances Oily skin: To control the output of sebum on the skin, a simple concoction of equal parts of ACV and cool water can do the trick. Dab generously on a cotton ball and apply on the face. Avoid contact with the eyes.

Balances Dry Skin: For dry skin, skip the cleanser and let the vinegar and water do their work. Mix half a cup of apple cider vinegar to 1 cup of warm water. Immerse a cotton ball in your Water-ACV solution and gently dab on your face. Wash out solution with cool water then moisturize.

So the next time you feel that want to have a beautiful and healthy skin and it so happens that you are tight on the budget, there is no need for you to cash out tons of money on expensive beauty products. All you need is to open your cupboard and grab an apple cider vinegar and you’ll just be a few steps away to having great skin.
